We visited Achema 2024, the world's largest chemical exhibition held every three years in Frankfurt from June 10 (Mon) to June 14 (Fri), for the first time in 15 years with two staff.
I was most surprised of the fact that exhibitors from China and India increased significantly.
I felt the power of the countries!

Why we visited Achema

We visited Achema to visit the booth of DONIT, a Slovenian company with which we already do business, and to develop new business partners.

DONIT TESNIT: Manufacturer of hydrogen gaskets and PFAS-free gaskets

At the DONIT’s booth, we were introduced to new products for hydrogen gas and received a presentation on PFAS-free products. We also participated in a party at the booth in the evening during the event, where we got to know agents from various countries including Germany, the UK, India, China, and Saudi Arabia, and had a wonderful time together.
In Japan, people don’t drink at booths at exhibition halls, so this was a cultural difference in which conversation is valued.

Developing new business partners

As for developing new business partners, which is another important purpose, we were able to talk with people from various countries.
We spoke with manufacturers of oil remover from Germany, gas sensors from Switzerland, dust sensors from Germany, explosion-proof LED from Spain, and as for sealing business which is one of our main businesses, we also made connections with people from countries including Egypt, Germany, the Netherlands, China, Taiwan, and Egypt.
I will write about it next time.

Personally, I heard from time to time that Japanese companies use German machinery, so I was curious about how excellent German products were. I also had the impression that the German people are strict and rigid, so I am hoping to take this opportunity to start doing business with German company.

We have already had several online interviews with one of those companies, and we will start transactions as early as next month.
The staff from the company conducted the meetings in a very organized manner, just as I had imagined.

The future of KOTANI

One of our important goals this year is to expand our overseas product lineup, and we have already signed a contract with a Korean company and have begun doing business with them.
We will do more businesses with companies from other company as well.
